The Paddock

Three days. Three nights. One paddock we call home.

The paddock at Rain Dance Festival

For three days and nights we take an empty paddock in the West Australian bush and turn it into something else entirely.

A temporary world built from sound systems, lights, art and imagination. What starts as dirt and grass slowly becomes a playground of ideas. Stages appear. Lights glow through the trees. Camps take shape and the music begins to roll through the valley.

By the time the first bassline hits, the paddock has become a living thing. A place where strangers become neighbours and the outside world fades away for a while.

Every year we build it. Every year we pack it down again. And every year it feels like coming home.

We are incredibly grateful to be able to call Armoin our festival home. The land owners, shire, community and authorities all make this possible, so please, respect the land, be responsible on the roads, stop into Boddington and grab some supplies on your way out.

Respect the land, show love to the community, and take care of each other while you're out here.

The Culture

Underground. Intimate. Home grown.

Rain Dance culture

Rain Dance was born from West Australian bush doof culture. The kind built by friends, crews and sound systems long before anyone was thinking about big commercial festivals.

That spirit still runs through everything we do.

We believe in collaboration over competition. In community over cliques. In building something together rather than chasing hype.

It's underground not because we're trying to be exclusive, but because the culture has always grown from the ground up.

The people who come here aren't just attendees. They're part of the ecosystem that keeps this thing alive.

The Music

Deeply curated. Proudly underground.

Stage and sound system

Bass music sits at the heart of Rain Dance.

Across our stages you'll hear everything from deep dubstep and halftime to drum & bass, UKG, breaks and left-field bass music that doesn't quite fit into neat boxes.

We don't book artists just because they're trending. We look for people who are pushing sounds forward. Artists who care about their craft. Producers and DJs who are part of their communities and bring something unique to the dancefloor.

You might not recognise every name on the lineup.

But chances are you'll leave with a new favourite.

The Art

More than just music.

Art installation

Rain Dance has always been a place where creativity spills beyond the stage.

Over the years we've expanded the festival to include more and more ways for people to contribute their craft. Visual artists, dancers, performers, designers, experience builders and creators of all kinds.

You'll find light shows, live art, roaming performances and immersive spaces scattered throughout the paddock.

And we're always open to new ideas.

If someone shows up with a wild concept for how they want to contribute to the experience, chances are we'll try to find a way to make it happen.

The Community

A family of weirdos.

The Rain Dance community

We're neurodivergent.
And honestly, we suspect most of you are too.

Rain Dance has always attracted the wonderfully strange. The bass heads, the dreamers, the artists, the night creatures and the beautifully weird humans who feel most at home a long way from the mainstream.

Our community is the heartbeat of this whole beast.

We intentionally keep Rain Dance boutique sized. Not because we couldn't grow bigger, but because what we're building isn't meant for the masses.

It's meant for the people who understand it.

Our foundations are strong. Our vision is clear.

We want to still be doing this in twenty years.

And we hope you'll still be here too.

You can be here for a long time.
And a good time.
